How we work

How a project works, step by step

From the first call to launch and after: what happens at each step, how long it usually takes, what you do, what we do and what you receive.

In short

Every project with PhonedTech follows the same steps: a free 30-minute call, a written plan and price, building in two-week rounds with a demo every week, launch, and ongoing care if you want it. At each step you know what you do, what we do and what you receive, and everything we build is yours.

What happens at each step

The times are typical estimates and depend on the size of the job. You see the price before any building starts: how pricing works.

  1. Step1

    Free 30-minute call

    Typical time: about 1 week

Tell us how your business works today and what slows you down. We listen, ask questions, and within about a week send you a short written summary. It's yours to keep, even if you don't hire us.

    Your part
Book a free call or send us a message. If you like, fill in the short project brief first.
    Our part
One of our engineers listens, asks questions and suggests options in plain words.
    What you receive
A short written summary of what we suggest, even if you don't hire us.
  2. Step2

    Plan & price

    Typical time: 1–2 weeks

We plan how everything will work and write it down clearly, so any developer could pick it up years from now. You get the written plan and the price before any building starts.

    Your part
Answer our questions about how your business works, and approve the plan when it's right for you.
    Our part
Plan how everything will work, and write down what will be built and in what order.
    What you receive
The written plan and a clear quote. If the job includes design, clickable sample screens to try first.
  3. Step3

    Build

    Typical time: 2–12 weeks

We build in two-week rounds and show you real progress every week, so you can try it, comment and change direction early on.

    Your part
Join the weekly demo, try what is ready and give quick feedback.
    Our part
Build in two-week rounds, each with a written list of what will be done.
    What you receive
A demo of real, working progress every week.
  4. Step4

    Launch

    Typical time: about 1 week

We take it live and set up everything around it: your web address, the security padlock, backups and alerts, all in your company's name.

    Your part
Check the finished system and give the go-ahead.
    Our part
Test everything, take it live, and set up the web address, backups and alerts.
    What you receive
Handover notes: how it all works, the main decisions written down, and every account in your company's name.
  5. Step5

    Ongoing care

    Typical time: ongoing

If you'd like, we keep it running, up to date and safe, and keep improving it as your business grows. We can also agree on set response times if you need them.

    Your part
Choose what suits you: keep us on, or run it yourselves with the written notes.
    Our part
Stay with you through the first weeks after launch and, if you want, keep the system running, up to date and safe.
    What you receive
If you need them, response times agreed in writing.

After launch, we're still here

Support, monitoring and changes, if you want us to keep looking after your system.

  • Support

We stay with you through the first weeks after launch. After that, our support plan is optional, with response times agreed in writing if you need them.

  • Monitoring

At launch we set up backups and alerts. While we look after your system, we keep an eye on it, so if something goes wrong, we find out quickly and fix it.

  • Changes

As your business grows, we keep improving the system. If a change isn't in the agreed plan, we tell you before we work on it.

  • Or run it yourselves

Everything is in your company's name, with written notes on how it works, so your own team or another company can take over.

What we promise you

  • A reply from an engineer

One of our engineers reads your message and usually replies within one business day.

  • A written summary after the free call

After the free 30-minute call you get a short written summary of what we suggest. It's yours to keep, even if you don't hire us.

  • A senior engineer from start to finish

A senior engineer is on your project from the first call to handover. We don't pass the hard parts to subcontractors.

  • Progress you can see every week

While we build, we show you the progress every week in a short demo or check-in, so you always know where things stand.

  • You own everything

The code, the accounts and your web address are in your company's name from day one. If you ever want to move on, everything is already yours.

  • We stay after launch

We stay with you through the first weeks after launch and, if you want, keep looking after your system after that. We don't hand over the keys and disappear.

Questions about how we work

How long does a project take?

It depends on the size of the job. A small, focused first version can take about four weeks, and a larger system usually takes 16 weeks or more. The first week is always spent understanding your business.

How much of our time will it take?

Some, but not much: answers to our questions, a look at the weekly demo, and your decisions. It helps most to have one person on your side who can answer questions and make decisions.

Can we change things along the way?

Yes. That's why we show you real progress every week: you can try it, comment and change direction early on. If a change isn't in the agreed plan, we tell you before we work on it.

Who works on our project?

A senior engineer is on your project from the first call to handover, and we don't pass the hard parts to subcontractors.

What happens after launch?

We stay with you through the first weeks after launch and, if you want, keep looking after your system after that. Or your own team takes over, using the written notes we leave you.

How is the price worked out?

How pricing works explains what drives the cost, how your quote is built and how you pay. In short: after a free 30-minute call and a short look at your needs, you get a written plan and a clear quote before any work starts.

Start with a free 30-minute call

Tell us what slows your business down. One of our engineers usually replies within one business day, and after the call you get a short written summary, even if you don't hire us.
