SaaS product development and your own custom CRM
SaaS product development means building online software that your customers log into and pay for, usually every month (SaaS is short for "software as a service"). Phoned-Tech builds all of it: the screens your customers use, sign-up and payments, a back office for your team, and the servers it runs on. For a better way to manage your own customers, there's Phoned-CRM, our own CRM, which we shape around your business and run on its own separate server.
What is SaaS product development?
Think of the online tools you pay for every month, for bookings, invoices or staff schedules. Each one is a SaaS product: built once, then used by many businesses for a regular fee.
We build every part a product like that needs: the screens, sign-up and payments, private information for each customer, a back office for your team, and servers that run day and night.
Who is this for?
Usually for someone in one of these situations:
- You have an idea for software people would pay for every month, and you need a team to build it properly.
- You built a tool for your own business, like bookings or quotes, and others in your field want it too.
- You track customers in spreadsheets, notes and WhatsApp, and things slip through the cracks.
- You tried a ready-made CRM, and you keep working around it.
What we build into your product
Almost every product we build includes:
- Sign-up and login, with clear roles: who can see what, and who can change what.
- Payments: monthly plans, pay-per-use pricing, invoices and tax, through a trusted payment provider such as Stripe.
- Clear, fast screens and reports that everyone can use, including people with disabilities.
- A back office where your team manages customers and settings.
- Easy first steps, with sample data and a guided tour, so new customers get started without calling you.
- AI only where it truly helps, like an assistant that answers questions from your own information.
- Servers, web address, secure connection (the padlock in the browser), emails and backups, all set up for you.
Phoned-CRM: your own custom CRM, on your own server
A CRM is where a business keeps track of its customers and sales: who they are, what you talked about, and what happens next.
Phoned-CRM is our own CRM. You start with a system that already works, and we shape it around the way your business already runs.
Every client gets their own Phoned-CRM on a completely separate server, sized to their needs and shared with no other company. It runs on your own web address with your logo, and we handle the technical side, so your team just logs in and works.
- Sales tracking, contacts, an inbox and reports
- Automations for repetitive tasks, and connections to the tools you already use
- An AI assistant that answers questions from your own business information
- Backups, and servers watched around the clock
How a project runs, step by step
A senior engineer works on your project from the first call to handover. A small first version can be live in about 4 weeks, while a full product usually takes 16 weeks or more.
- A free 30-minute call about your business and your idea, then about a week of mapping it out. You get a short written summary, even if you don't hire us.
- A plan in writing (1 to 2 weeks): what we'll build, in what order and at what cost. You agree to it before work starts.
- Building (2 to 12 weeks). We work in two-week rounds and show you real progress every week.
- Going live (about 1 week). We set up the web address, secure connection and alerts, then launch.
- Looking after it (ongoing, if you want). We keep it running and up to date, and keep making it better.
What it costs and how pricing works
We don't guess a price before we understand the job. After the free call, we write down what we'll build and send you a clear quote.
Most work is billed per two-week round, each with its own written plan. Small, clearly defined jobs can have a fixed price. Anything new that isn't in the plan, we raise with you first.
Phoned-CRM has no public price list. Each one is shaped and sized for its client, so we quote each client separately.
After launch: we stay, and it's all yours
A product we build for you is yours from day one. The code, the cloud account and the web address are in your company's name, and we just hold a set of keys.
If you want, we stay on to fix problems and add improvements. We check that your backups really work, and can arrange a security check by an outside company.
Phoned-Tech is a team of 7+ senior engineers, building software since 2013. We've launched more than 40 systems, and 4 out of 5 clients come back to work with us again.
When Phoned-Tech isn't the right fit
If we're not the right team for you, we'll say so on the first call. These are the usual reasons:
- A ready-made CRM already fits how you work, so buy that. A custom CRM pays off when you need it shaped around you, or on your own server.
- You haven't tested the idea with real customers yet. Talk to them first, or start with a small first version on purpose.
- The lowest hourly rate decides it. A team of only senior engineers won't win that comparison.
- You need a big team on day one. We're 7+ senior engineers and stay small by choice.
SaaS products & Phoned-CRM: common questions
How much does SaaS product development cost?
It depends on what you need, so we don't guess. After a free 30-minute call, we write down what we'll build and send you a clear quote. You agree to it before any work starts.
How long until my product is live?
About 4 weeks for a small first version, and usually 16 weeks or more for a full product. You see real progress every week.
How much does Phoned-CRM cost?
There's no public price. Each client's CRM is shaped to their business and runs on its own server, sized to their needs, so we quote each client after the free call.
I'm not technical. What do you need from me?
You don't need technical knowledge. We need someone who knows your business and your customers and can make decisions. We handle the technical side and explain every important choice in plain words. If we connect tools you already use, we'll need access to them.
Who owns the product?
You do, from day one. For a product we build for you, the code, the cloud account and the web address are in your company's name. Phoned-CRM is our own product, set up just for you on a separate server and your own web address.
Is my Phoned-CRM shared with other companies?
No. Every client gets a completely separate system: its own server, its own settings, and your information kept only there. Another company's busy day can't slow you down.
What happens after launch?
If you want, we stay on after launch to keep your product running and up to date and to add improvements. With Phoned-CRM, looking after the servers and backups is part of the service.
