Shopify and online store development for growing businesses
Phoned-Tech handles Shopify and online store development for businesses whose store now creates more work than it saves. We build Shopify stores your team can update without a developer, linked to the systems you already use for stock, orders and customers, so nobody re-types orders by hand. Your store keeps taking orders the whole time we work on it, and you own everything we build.
What Shopify and online store development covers
Shopify runs your online store: product pages, cart, payments and checkout. It does a lot out of the box. We step in where the ready-made version stops fitting how your business works.
That might be a store design made for your brand, which your team edits on its own, or a link between the store and your other systems, so an online sale updates warehouse stock by itself. Less often, it's a store built fully from scratch, with Shopify still taking payments behind the scenes (often called headless commerce). We'll tell you which you need, and for most stores the simpler option is the right one.
Is this right for you?
This is usually for businesses that already sell online, where the store works but takes too much effort to run. Common signs:
- Someone copies orders into your accounting or stock system by hand, every day.
- The stock on the website doesn't match the shelf, so you sell things you don't have.
- The store relies on a long list of add-on apps, and it's getting slow.
- Every new campaign page has to wait for a developer.
- Selling online is part of something bigger, like a members' area for customers or repeat orders from business customers.
What you get
We build only what your store needs, usually some of these:
- A Shopify store designed for your brand, with sections your team edits without a developer.
- A store linked to the systems you already use, such as Priority, SAP or Salesforce, plus your warehouse and loyalty program. Stock, prices and orders move between them on their own.
- A fast store. Heavy add-on apps often slow Shopify stores down, so where a little custom work can replace one, we'll tell you.
- Better product search, richer content pages and extra features made for your business, even at checkout if your Shopify plan allows it.
- A store in more than one language, with Hebrew shown properly from right to left.
- An accessibility check before handover, so people with disabilities can shop with you too.
Your orders keep flowing while we work
The design is usually the easy part. The harder part is the information behind the store: products, prices and stock coming in, and orders and refunds going back out.
If the same order is sent twice by mistake, your system still records it once. A regular automatic check compares the store with your other systems and catches any gaps. If something goes wrong, an alert goes out, so you don't wait for a customer to complain.
Every change is tried first on a test copy of your store. Nothing changes for your customers until you've approved it.
How it works, step by step
A senior engineer is on your project from the first call to handover, and we don't pass the hard parts to subcontractors. Phoned-Tech is a team of 7+ senior engineers, building software since 2013.
- A free 30-minute call, where you tell us how you sell today and what's getting in the way.
- Getting to know your business (about a week). We look at your products, systems and goals. You get a one-page written summary, even if you don't hire us.
- A plan agreed in writing (1 to 2 weeks). Together we decide what gets built and which system is in charge of prices and stock.
- Building (2 to 12 weeks). We work in two-week rounds and show you the real store every week.
- Going live (about a week). We connect your web address, set up alerts and switch the new store on.
- Looking after it (optional). A monthly plan covers updates, regular checks and improvements to the store.
What it costs and how pricing works
There's no price list. A design refresh and a rebuild linked to three other systems are very different jobs. After the call and the first week together, we write down exactly what will be built, and only then send a clear quote.
Most projects are billed in two-week rounds, each agreed in writing. A fixed price suits a clearly defined job, like connecting your store to one system. You pay your Shopify plan and any app fees directly to Shopify and the app makers, not through us.
After launch: it's all yours
Your store, your web address, any other accounts we set up and everything we build are in your company's name from day one. We only use logins you give us, and you can cancel them at any time. At handover you get written notes on how it all works, so your team or another company can carry on without us. Four out of five Phoned-Tech clients come back for a second project.
When we're not the right fit
If a ready-made Shopify design and a few well-reviewed apps cover what you sell, you don't need us. Set the store up yourself and spend the money on products and marketing.
We're also not a marketing agency, so we don't run ads or write product descriptions. We build the store and keep it working, and your team runs the shop.
And if you want a store built fully from scratch only because it sounds modern, expect us to talk you out of it.
Online stores & Shopify: common questions
How much does a Shopify store cost?
There's no price list, because it depends on what your store needs. After a free 30-minute call and about a week getting to know your business, we write down what we'll build and send a clear quote.
How long does it take to build or improve an online store?
Our projects range from about four weeks for a focused job to sixteen weeks or more for a large one. We give you a timeline at the end of that first week.
Who owns the store and everything you build?
You do, from day one. Everything is in your company's name, and we only use logins you can cancel at any time.
I'm not technical. Is that a problem?
No. We need you to know your products and customers, and we handle the technical side. We explain everything in plain words, show you the working store every week, and nothing goes live without your approval.
What do you need from me?
Access to your store and to the systems it should connect to, plus one person who can answer questions and approve work. We'll also ask for a little time each week to go over the progress together.
Can you connect Shopify to Priority or SAP?
Yes. We connect Shopify to business management systems (ERP) such as Priority and SAP, to Salesforce and custom-built systems, and to warehouse and loyalty systems. Which system is in charge of prices and stock is agreed in writing first.
What support do I get after the store goes live?
You choose: run the store yourselves with our handover notes, or keep us on a monthly plan. If information stops moving between your systems, an alert goes out, so problems are spotted early. Response times can be agreed in writing.
