For founders and startups

MVP and app development for startups

You have an idea and need a first version that people can actually use and investors can see working. We help you decide what to build first, build it with you week by week, and stay as your team grows.

In short

PhonedTech builds first versions (MVPs) of apps and online products for startups in Israel. We help you choose what to build first, show you working software every week, and keep a version ready to demo to investors. Your company owns the code and the rights from day one, and our team can grow with you.

What founders ask us first

  • What should we build first?

Less than you think. We help you choose the few things your first users really need, so you launch sooner and learn from real people before you build more.

  • We're non-technical founders. Is that a problem?

Not at all. You know your users and your market. We explain every technical choice in plain words, in terms of cost, risk and time, and you decide.

  • Will it hold up in front of investors?

You'll have real, working software to show, not just slides. Before an investor meeting, we help you prepare a stable version with demo data.

An AI assistant that answers your customers

An illustration of what we could build for you, not a client project.

On your website or on WhatsApp, it answers from your own documents, and hands the chat to a person when it isn't sure.

The situation

Think of a business that rents holiday cabins in the Galilee. Most messages ask the same things: when can we check in, can we bring the dog, what's included, how do we get there. They arrive on WhatsApp at all hours, often on Friday night, and the owner answers each one from their phone. Guests who wait too long for an answer book somewhere else.

What we'd build

  • An assistant on your website and on your WhatsApp Business number that answers in Hebrew and English.
  • It answers only from your own information: house rules, price list, directions and cancellation terms.
  • When it isn't sure, or a guest asks for something special, it passes the chat to a person with a short summary.
  • It never confirms a booking or a refund by itself: a person on your team approves those.
  • You can read every conversation and step in at any time.
  • Keeping it up to date is simple: change a document, and the answers change with it.

How it would work

  1. Together we collect your documents and the questions guests ask most, and agree what the assistant may answer on its own.
  2. A guest asks a question on WhatsApp or on your website.
  3. The assistant answers from your information, in the guest's language.
  4. If it isn't sure, it tells the guest that someone from the team will reply, and sends you the chat with a short summary.
Typical timeline
Usually 4 to 16 weeks. An assistant for one job is quicker, and one that connects to many systems, with several approval steps, takes longer.

Ways to work with us

We offer all of these. Which one fits depends on you and on the project, so we suggest one after the free call.

  • Fixed-price project

For a clearly defined job, agreed in full and in writing before any work starts.

  • Monthly retainer

Ongoing work every month: improvements, updates and looking after your system.

  • Part-time CTO

A senior engineer as your part-time tech partner for decisions, plans and hiring, without a full-time hire.

  • Dedicated team

Engineers who work on your product as part of your team, week after week, for as long as you need them.

  • White-label for agencies

We build for an agency's clients under the agency's brand, and stay in the background.

What we promise you

  • A reply from an engineer

One of our engineers reads your message and usually replies within one business day.

  • A written summary after the free call

After the free 30-minute call you get a short written summary of what we suggest. It's yours to keep, even if you don't hire us.

  • A senior engineer from start to finish

A senior engineer is on your project from the first call to handover. We don't pass the hard parts to subcontractors.

  • Progress you can see every week

While we build, we show you the progress every week in a short demo or check-in, so you always know where things stand.

  • You own everything

The code, the accounts and your web address are in your company's name from day one. If you ever want to move on, everything is already yours.

  • We stay after launch

We stay with you through the first weeks after launch and, if you want, keep looking after your system after that. We don't hand over the keys and disappear.

Questions founders ask

How long does a first version take?

A small, focused first version can take about four weeks. A larger product takes 16 weeks or more. You see working software every week, so you always know where things stand.

How much does an MVP cost?

There's no price list, because every product is different. After a free 30-minute call, we help you choose what goes into the first version, and you get a written plan and a clear quote before any work starts. Keeping the first version small keeps the cost down.

Who owns the code and the intellectual property?

Your company, from day one. The code, the cloud account, your web address and the rights to what we build are in your company's name, and you get written notes so another team can carry on if you ever need it. Investors and buyers will ask, and the answer is simple.

Can the team grow with us?

Yes. As the product grows, we can add engineers, work as your dedicated team or give you a part-time CTO. When you're ready to hire your own developers, we help you hire them and hand everything over.

Can you add AI to our product?

Yes. We add AI features that work with your product's own information, such as an assistant that answers your users' questions. We tell you honestly when AI is worth it, and when something simpler will do.

Tell us about your idea

Book a free 30-minute call or send us a WhatsApp message. Bring the idea as it is: a sketch, a few slides or one sentence is enough to start.
